Veronica discovered her love for dog training when she adopted a 4 month old German Shepherd puppy named Oliver who had already been in 4 homes. When they got home, it took Veronica 90 minutes to get anxious, reactive Oliver the 30 feet from the car to the front door (he barked, lunged, and snapped at every person, dog, and leaf blowing in the wind).
The next day, Veronica called Lead the Way K9 Training, and she and Oliver started their journey together. Now 2 years later, Oliver works as Veronica’s training assistant helping other reactive and anxious dogs, he goes on regular off leash hikes, and he is working on his AKC trick title!
Veronica completed her dog training apprenticeship with Heather and Lead the Way K9 Training, and is certified in Canine CPR and First Aid. She has also received specialized training working with anxious and reactive dogs through Training Between the Ears. Because of Oliver, she has a strong passion for helping anxious, reactive dogs learn how be calm, relaxed, and happy!
