Maggie has always had a love of animals. She grew up around horses, cattle and working dogs in her youth and chose to continue this passion as a career. She started with working and training horses and then eventually managing farms. After many years of farm life, it was time for a career change and Maggie wanted to expand on her skills and knowledge of companion animals. She started working in pet retail at Animal Connection and eventually expanded her expertise into nutritional consulting and dog grooming.
After working at Animal Connection for 4 years, she wanted to continue to expand her animal knowledge and experiences, and so In Loving Hands, LLC was born- her dog walking and pet sitting business, where she realized how critical it was for consistent training, even when handling someone else’s dog for only short periods. Maggie’s natural dog handling skills coupled with her passion for learning all she could about dog training, and her willingness to work with her clients’ trainers to provide the most consistent walking and training experience for the dogs became quickly evident to all her clients.
When Maggie was approached by Heather to join the Lead the Way K9 Training team and apprentice with her, Maggie jumped at the chance. And the rest they say, is history! Maggie is Lead the Way K9’s resident puppy expert, and provides in-home private lessons for Lead the Way K9’s dog training students of all ages. She wants to make sure every dog has a chance to thrive with their owners and that every owner can truly enjoy their companions!
